Italian film fest to honour Ejiofor

Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jessica Chastain are to be honoured as actor and actress of the year at the Ischia Global Film And Music Fest in Italy.

The festival - which runs from July 12-20 - will dedicate a special evening to the British actor who starred in Oscar-winning film 12 Years A Slave. A similar evening will honour Jessica, including the Italian premiere of The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby: Them.

It will be the second Italian honour in less than a year for the 34-year-old Oscar-nominated actress. She was the guest of honour at the Giffoni Film Festival last July.

As announced previously, the 12-year-old event, held on the picturesque island of Ischia, off the coast of Naples, will also honour Sylvester Stallone, Amazing Spiderman director Marc Webb, director Ferzan Ozpetek, and Italy's Paolo Virzi, whose latest film, The Human Capital (Il capitale umano), has triumphed at Italian awards season.

Israeli singer Noa will open the event with a concert on July 12.
