Jackman to play Wolverine again?

Hugh Jackman looks set to reprise his best known role in another Wolverine movie.

The Australian actor last played the clawed X-Men character in this year's blockbuster The Wolverine, and Deadline reports that he is now tipped to star in a sequel.

Twentieth Century Fox is also in negotiations with director James Mangold to return for the follow up. The filmmaker is currently working on a deal to pen the treatment for the new film about the mutant superhero.

Hugh, 45, has played the character several times, including in the original X-Men trilogy and spin-offs.

He will next be seen as Logan/Wolverine in X-Men: Days Of Future Past in 2014.

The Prisoners star recently told E! News that the character is "like a best friend" to him.

"He's the beginning of my career here in America and he's still there," he said. "It's been 14 years and I can't believe it. I love the character. I love playing him and I'm probably loving him more than ever."
