Jackson swings towards Tarzan film?
Samuel L Jackson is in talks to star in the Tarzan reboot.
The Django Unchained star is said to be in discussions over a role in the Warner Bros film, with Christoph Waltz, his co-star in Quentin Tarantino's Western, still in negotiations for a part, reported Variety.
Samuel reportedly showed an interest in the part in the early days of the film's development, but the dates couldn't be worked out. The studio then approached Jamie Foxx, but he was "forced to pass" when the film's production was postponed.
Alexander Skarsgard is to star as Tarzan in the latest adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' books, which will be directed by Harry Potter director David Yates.
Sources claim that About Time actress Margot Robbie is the studio's choice to play Tarzan's romantic interest Jane, but she has yet to receive an official offer.
Plot details for the upcoming Tarzan film are being kept under wraps, with various writers working on the script including John August, Marianne Wibberley and, most recently, Adam Cozad.
Samuel, last heard as Whiplash the snail in animated comedy Turbo, will next star in Spike Lee's Oldboy remake.
The Oscar-nominated actor will also be in the RoboCop remake and will reprise his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury in the Captain America sequel, The Winter Soldier.
