Jake Gyllenhaal's ostrich fears

Jake Gyllenhaal wasn't a big fan of the ostriches

Jake Gyllenhaal was terrified by the ostriches in Prince Of Persia.

The Hollywood heartthrob, who portrays Prince Dastan in the blockbuster, gets chased by the big birds in one scene, after stumbling into the middle of an ostrich race.

"The scariest days of shooting this movie were the days the ostriches worked - they are some mean birds, they are really, really dangerous," he admitted.

"They can kill you with their beaks, tear off your face with their claws. And they're big. They're really, really big and they can trample you."

Luckily, Jake - who next stars in rom-com Nailed with Jessica Biel - was able to shoot the scene in one take.

"I am literally running for my life with eight ostriches chasing me. After the first take of that scene I was like, 'Phew! That must have looked amazing!' And the crew was like, 'We rolled and you ran. We let the ostriches out after you finished running'," he recalled.

:: Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time is available on DVD and Blu-ray from September 13.

You never do anything in moderation. Attend every fun party, accept every juicy offer and try all the delectable treats spread before you. Avoid unpleasant people and activities like the plague. This should be a time of enjoyment. Leave your list of chores at home. You can always attend to these jobs at another time. If you have a chance to show your creative work to a publisher, manager or agent, go ahead. This is also a great opportunity to go on job interviews, auditions and first dates.More
