James Brolin heads for The Nest

James Brolin will be playing Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's father in new film The Nest.

James will star in the comedy about two sisters (Tina and Amy) who throw one last party before their parents' house is sold.

The Mindy Project actor Ike Barinholtz has also signed up for the Universal film, Deadline reported.

Pitch Perfect filmmaker Jason Moore is directing The Nest from an original script by Saturday Night Live writer Paula Pell.

Tina will also produce and Amy is executive producer of the film, expected to be released in December 2015.
