The Fall actor Jamie Dornan's performance in the erotically charged film Fifty Shades of Grey has been described as Oscar-worthy by one of its screen writers.

Speaking at a Hollywood writers' Q&A event, Kelly Marcel, who also penned the script for the Oscar nominated Saving Mr Banks, praised the Co Down actor's portrayal of kinky billionaire Christian Grey.

She told the audience that when it came to navigating the sex scenes, Dornan struck the right balance between being gentle and controlling.

When asked to rate his performance in the upcoming film, Marcel replied: "He's going to get an Oscar." Marcel also explained that she had to be extremely descriptive with the steamy script.
