Jamie Dornan quickly became a household name following the release of Fifty Shades of Grey, the erotic drama in which he plays Christian Grey.

However, despite the film’s success, the 34-year-old does not want to return to the franchise following the release of Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed, both of which have already been filmed.

“We have done two movies back to back now, and I’m actually finished with it,” he told The Sun. “I’ve done Fifty Shades forever.”

He continued: “I move on very fast in my mind. As much as from the outside people think you are synonymous with one character, but I’m very much like, ‘Right, that’s done’ and move on to the next project and worry about that character.”

The first film in the series made $571 million worldwide in 2015 on a budget of $40 million, with the potential to release a fourth film, based on Dornan’s character, previously thought to be a possibility.

In the same interview, the actor spoke about the feud between the first film’s director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, and the book’s author EL James, real name Erika Mitchell.

“There are pressures involved with everyone making a movie of this scale. Not just Sam and Erika, everyone is feeling the pressure.

“Everyone is trying to complete their role as best they can. For Erika these are her babies, these mean more than her to anyone else.”

Recently, Dornan’s co-star, Dakota Johnson, spoke candidly about the 'tedious' Fifty Shades Darker sex scenes, saying: “I've been simulating sex for seven hours straight – I'm over it.”
