Jane Fonda not fazed by critics

Jane Fonda will play Nancy Reagan in The Butler

Jane Fonda has taken a swipe at critics of her Nancy Reagan role, saying they should "get a life".

Her comment to The Hollywood Reporter come following criticism from some Conservative bloggers in the US about the casting of the veteran actress and liberal activist as former US President Ronald Reagan's wife in new movie The Butler.

"Get a life," the star, known as Hanoi Jane, said.

She added that she wasn't bothered by the criticism and that the "hoopla... will cause more people to see the movie."

The Lee Daniels drama tells the story of Eugene Allen, the long-serving head butler at the White House.

John Cusack plays Richard Nixon, Robin Williams is Dwight Eisenhower, and James Marsden is John F Kennedy in the film, due out later this year.

Leo:

Don't get involved with a hidden intrigue. The drama will be exciting at first, but eventually you will tire of keeping secrets. If someone is interested in you romantically, you shouldn't have to sneak around together. An oppressive work situation may tempt you to quit your job. Try not to discuss your plans with colleagues. You don't want a rival to tell your employer about your resignation until you're ready to tender it. Protect your interests at all costs.More
