Jane Fonda to receive film award
Jane Fonda is to be presented with one of Hollywood's most prestigious honours for her movie career.
The Oscar and Golden Globe-winning actress - who has been acting since the 1950s - will be given the American Film Institute's (AFI) 42nd Life Achievement Award next year.
AFI chairman Howard Stringer called the 75-year-old star "American film royalty".
He went on: "A bright light first introduced to the world as the daughter of Henry Fonda, the world watched as she found her own voice and forged her own path."
Jane's latest roles include television series The Newsroom and Lee Daniels' film The Butler, in which she portrayed Nancy Reagan.
The award will be presented to Jane at a star-studded gala in the US on June 5, 2014.
