Jennifer Hudson's son has film role

Jennifer Hudson has said her son may make his debut in her new film - but he's not impressed with the marketing.

The singer and actress, 32, stars alongside Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett in festive movie Black Nativity.

David, Jennifer's four-year-old son with fiance David Otunga, a professional wrestler and Harvard Law graduate, makes an appearance in the movie in a scene where he's sitting on another person's lap.

The Dreamgirls star plays a single mum in the musical movie, about a streetwise teen from Baltimore who goes to New York to spend Christmas with his estranged relatives.

Jennifer said that her son understood that he was in a film, because when he saw the promotional material he asked: "Why am I not on the poster? Where am I?"

The former American Idol star added: "It's a bit of a process when someone else is playing my son. He says, 'Mummy, that's not your son, I'm your son!' He doesn't really get that part yet."
