Joaquin Phoenix looks set to star in filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson's new comedy.

The pair recently worked together on The Master, which has netted Joaquin a best actor Oscar nomination, and now the star is in talks to join the director's film Inherent Vice, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

If Joaquin signs up for the 60s-set movie, he will play a pot-smoking detective who is trying to solve a kidnapping case.

Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr was previously linked to the role in the film, which is an adaptation of a 2009 novel by American author Thomas Pynchon.

Anderson, who has not tackled comedy before, will write and direct Inherent Vice.

Having incentives will keep you focused and productive. Fortunately, a loved one is offering lots of support. Lean on this friend when you feel discouraged. With their encouragement, you'll be able to finish work in record time. After hours, you'll be able to share a good meal together. Do your best to balance work with play.More
