Dwayne Johnson has joked that the Expendables cast are "not ready" for him.
The wrestler-turned-actor, who next stars in GI Joe: Retaliation, revealed he has not been asked to appear in the third instalment of the action movies, which star Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Dolph Lundgren.
"I just saw The Expendables 2 last night and I can honestly tell you that they're not ready for me. They're not ready for me. They're still hunting people down, so they're really not ready," he quipped.
He added: "I haven't been approached about The Expendables 3."
But Dwayne, who is also known by his wrestling ring moniker The Rock, admitted there is no bad feeling between him and the cast.
"I just watched Expendables 2 - I enjoyed it. I love those guys, they are all my buddies. Statham and Stallone are good friends of mine," he said.
Sly, who is back on writing duties for the third Expendables film, is expected to reprise his role alongside returning cast members Jason, Jet and Arnold Schwarzenegger and newcomers Nicolas Cage and Wesley Snipes.
He is also hoping to get Jackie Chan on board as well as some "young bloods".
"Writing EX3 at the moment... There are going to be mountains of surprises. No S Seagal, sorry, but maybe we get lucky with J Chan! And some young bloods!!!" he tweeted.
GI Joe: Retaliation will open in cinemas on March 27.
