Dwayne Johnson has revealed that as a parent he could relate to his character in new movie Snitch.
The actor - known as The Rock - plays a dad who strikes a deal to infiltrate a dangerous drug cartel to reduce his son's jail sentence.
Father-of-one Dwayne told Collider of the true story: "I was moved by it, compelled by the story. As you read the script of Snitch I had to stop every once in a while, 'This really happened?'"
He added: "As a dad I connected immediately... I'd do anything to protect my child, anything, as this man did too.
"What was so moving about this story is that he is not your typical action hero really in any sense of the word, he was just a normal guy who had a family yet he was willing to infiltrate a drug cartel, he made this incredible deal with a US attorney to infiltrate a drug cartel to reduce his son's sentence knowing that in all likelihood he's going to die, those odds are high. That's very moving."
