Steve Jones reckons Colin Firth should lighten up a bit.

The TV star, who will be presenting live from the Bafta red carpet for the E! channel this weekend, said The King's Speech actor could do with relaxing his stiff upper lip.

"He's a great guy and a national treasure - I do wish he'd relax just a smidge, and not come across like he actually is the King of England," the Welshman said.

"It's like Colin, relax, you're not actually regal," he joked.

Steve is busy preparing for this Sunday's show, which he'll co-present with Girls Aloud's Kimberley Jones. But the former T4 host said a spray-tan was out of the question ahead of the big night.

"I think a perma-tanned man on a red carpet in London in February would look dreadful so if anything I'm going to go the opposite way and I'm going to Twilight myself up and make myself look even more pale," he joked.

"My advice to these actors is to relax. You interview them and sometimes they get a question and they think 'this guy's the enemy, be careful, he's trying to trip you up'.

"Actors constantly are in defence mode and I'm not there to make anyone look silly, I'm there to entertain the people at home. Just relax, enjoy the moment, it's your time as an actor to shine."
