Josh Brolin will produce, direct and star in the big screen adaptation of Pitz And Joe.
It will be the second time the Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps actor gets behind the camera, following his directorial debut with short film X.
Maya Forbes, whose credits include Monsters Vs Aliens and The Rocker, will pen the script of the family drama, Variety reports.
Pitz And Joe, inspired by the Dominique Cieri play of the same name, follows the misfortunes of a young man suffering from brain damage and his sister, who tries to coax him into believing that life is worth living.
Dominique wrote the play in 1979 after her older brother broke his neck in an accident.
Next up for Josh, who is currently shooting Men In Black 3, is the Coen brothers' remake of True Grit alongside Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon.
