Joss Whedon unfazed by Avengers 2

Joss Whedon has insisted he is not feeling any pressure for his Avengers sequel, following the success of Avengers Assemble.

The writer and director is currently working on the follow-up to his Marvel movie blockbuster, which featured an ensemble of superheroes including Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk and Black Widow.

Joss said: "You can't really think about money and success when you're writing a story. You can only think about the story.

If I try to top Avengers with Avengers 2 that's a failing proposition, if I try to make a better movie, that seems worth my time."

And while the creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer insisted he couldn't give anything away about the sequel except "chills and thrills" he revealed there would be no overlap in story from the previous film, or his spin-off TV show Agents of SHIELD.

He said: "It's very important to me that with all of these projects, you never need to see any other.

"The thing about the Marvel cinematic universe is it's like the comics. If you only read Spider-Man you only read Spider-Man. If you only read Daredevil, you only read Daredevil - you know.

"The Avengers has to work for somebody who has never seen anything else, SHIELD has to work for someone who's never seen any of the films."

Joss Whedon's new film adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing is out now.

Your Horoscopes by Russell Grant

Sagittarius:

Expressing your creative side is strongly advised. Take this opportunity to write, paint or play music. Relatives may not appreciate your work, but that doesn't matter. The important thing is to satisfy your own taste. People who are daring and experimental will appreciate your efforts. Don't be surprised if you're given a chance to showcase your work in a magazine, boutique or gallery. Fame and acclaim can be yours, so long as you're willing to follow your instincts.More
