Jungle celebs win food in ostrich fight

George Takei and Brian Paddick braved attacks from hungry ostriches to win eight meals in last night’s I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Bushtucker trial.
The pair, both of whom were taking part in their first trial, were nominated by their fellow contestants to face the challenge.
They were given eight minutes to move the stars along a tubular maze set up across three ostrich enclosures, having been smeared with ostrich food.
After fighting off the birds, who were furiously pecking at the seeds and molasses stuck on their clothes, former Star Trek actor Takei and former police chief Paddick managed to shift four of the six stars into the end zone, earning eight meals for the 11 celebrities. The pair returned to applause from their jungle cohabitants.
Meanwhile, Carly Zucker’s camp misery continued as she tearfully admitted to the others that she was considering walking out on the show.
Asked by Timmy Mallett how she was feeling, model and personal trainer Zucker (24), said: “I hate it.”
“Had enough?” asked Mallett. Zucker nodded. “I’d prefer someone else to stay if I feel like this,” she added.
David van Day doubted whether Zucker would actually leave, saying: “Hell will freeze over before she walks out of this camp, because she’s said a couple of times she’d like to win this.”
Joe Swash and Nicola McLean won coffee for the camp by successfully completing the day’s Celebrity Chest challenge.
McLean tried to persuade Swash to give up halfway through the challenge. She said later: “I couldn’t be bothered to do it because the treats we get are minimal. I won a mission to beat Dani (Behr) in my last Celebrity Chest, and I got a cracker with a piece of cheese and a grape.”
She then almost gave up again when she spotted a leech on her breast. Swash said: “Nicola had a leech on her booby. Some leeches are very clever. They know exactly where to go.”
“It was disgusting,” McLean complained.
Swash remains favourite to win the show, followed by Takei, Esther Rantzen and former tennis star Martina Navratilova.
