Karen Gillan in for indie comedy
Karen Gillan is set for another big-screen outing in Scottish indie comedy Not Another Happy Ending.
The Dr Who actress, best known for playing the Time Lord's companion Amy Pond in the BBC One series, will play a beautiful but eccentric novelist who suffers from writer's block since she found success.
Game Of Thrones actor Emun Elliott has been cast as her publisher in the romantic comedy, to be directed by John Mckay, reported Screen Daily.
"We have two of the newest, hottest, sexiest pair of lead actors out of Scotland. Just right for the kind of quirky, romantic indie movie Not Another Happy Ending is set to be," the director said.
Production is set for end of 2011, beginning of 2012.
Scottish star Karen, whose last role saw her portraying model Jean Shrimpton in a BBC4 film which explored her relationship with photographer David Bailey in the Swinging Sixties, is also set to make her stage debut in a new production of Inadmissible Evidence at the Donmar Warehouse this October.
