Katie Price revealed her split from Peter Andre was “not what I want”, but said the decision was out of her hands.
The model said she was “devastated” by her husband’s decision to divorce her, but she would always love him.
Price, whose separation from the Australian singer was announced yesterday, said in a statement: “Pete is the love of my life and my life.
“We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me, as I married him for life.
“This is not what I want and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation but I will always love my Pete.”
Her spokeswoman said Price left the country last night with Junior and Princess, her children by Andre. Her eldest child, Harvey, from a previous relationship, was at home with a nanny.
Price’s comments followed a brief joint statement announcing the separation yesterday afternoon. The couple’s statement made no mention of divorce plans, but requested that “the media respect their families’ privacy at this difficult time”.
The move appeared to signal an end to the couple’s three-and-a-half year marriage after they found romance on the reality TV show I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!
Apparent strains on their relationship have frequently hit the headlines, with their blazing rows often caught on camera for their ITV fly-on-the-wall shows.
Price, 30, found fame as glamour model Jordan and has shown herself to be a formidable businesswoman, turning her hand to writing, designing and horse riding as well as being a mother to Junior, three, Princess Tiaamii, almost two, and Harvey, six.
Before appearing on I’m A Celebrity... Andre was known as a one-hit wonder with his anthem Mysterious Girl.
Their lavish, fairytale wedding in 2005 saw Price don a huge pink dress and travel in a Cinderella-style carriage to the castle venue.
However, the model was snapped looking less like a cartoon princess and more like her alter ego Jordan on Friday, flashing her cleavage during a raucous night out in Bristol.
