Pacific Rim star Robert Kazinsky has joked he wants to marry director Guillermo del Toro, because he loved working with him so much.

The ex-EastEnder and True Blood hunk stars in the Mexican director's latest film, set in a future when monsters have invaded the world and humans have created giant robots to save mankind.

Robert said: "Every single day working with him was probably the most fulfilling day of my life.

"I'm secretly, not even that secretly, I actually am in love with Guillermo. I would have his children if it was actually physically possible!

"He is such a generous, giving, warm, patient, kind, good-humoured, talented man. I'm writing his Match.com profile right now but he is a one in a billion."

Charlie Hunnam, who plays the hero of the film, said he enjoyed making an action blockbuster with an original story.

"In this landscape of filmmaking right now the studios are relying very heavily on doing remakes and adaptations that have a built in audience. This is something completely original which for me was one of the big draws," he said.

Pacific Rim opens in cinemas on Friday July 12.

Don't show the fruits of your labour to anyone just now. You'll go through several drafts before you're happy with the result. At that point, you can show off your handiwork.
