Anna Kendrick is apparently in the running for the female lead in the Captain America sequel.
The Twilight actress - who was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in George Clooney film Up In The Air in 2009 - is among the frontrunners for the coveted part in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, according to The New York Post.
She faces competition from Imogen Poots and Felicity Jones, who are also said to be contenders.
The actress who lands the part will share the screen with Chris Evans, who is reprising the role of Steve Rogers/Captain America in the movie, the follow up to last year's Captain America: The First Avenger.
Hayley Atwell played Captain America's love interest in the first movie.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is due to be released in 2014.
