Kidman signs up for Strangerland

Nicole Kidman is to return to her native Australia to star in mystery drama Strangerland.

The Oscar-winning actress will be joined by fellow Aussies Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving in the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie, to be directed by Kim Farrant, follows a couple whose relationship is pushed to the brink when their two teenage children go missing in the Outback.

Screen Australia CEO Ruth Harley said the film has "a strong creative vision and massive A-list festival potential".

Nicole, 46, will next be seen as Grace Kelly in the movie Grace Of Monaco. She is also due to star in mystery thriller Before I Go To Sleep and family film Paddington.
