Kiefer's nerves over film with dad

Kiefer Sutherland is nervous about working with his dad Donald on an upcoming film

Kiefer Sutherland has revealed that he is "nervous" about the prospect of working with his father on an upcoming Western.

The star of Touch is set to appear on the big screen with dad Donald for the third time, where they will play father and son in the as-yet-untitled movie, reported Metro.

"It's about a son coming home from the Civil War after his mother has died. It's a very beautiful story and I'm very excited - and nervous - about doing it," he said.

The two last worked together in 1983 filming the comedy-drama Max Dugan Returns and later reunited for courtroom drama A Time To Kill in 1996. Donald, 77, has appeared in over 100 films including The Hunger Games, JFK and The Dirty Dozen, while Kiefer has focused on the small screen with hit TV series Touch and 24, as well as movies like The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Melancholia.

The 45-year-old actor revealed that he was 18 when he realised the quality of his father's work.

"In one weekend, I watched his films. Before that, I didn't know how good he was. I knew then that was the sort of actor I wanted to be," he said.

Filming on the Western, previously titled Redemption, is set to begin in Canada next spring.

If you're not able to provide them with the luxuries they crave, there will be problems. Then again, you have the potential for being a good provider, so all may be well.More
