Keira Knightley is in talks to star alongside Steve Carell in a new film, it has been reported.
The Oscar-nominated British actress is considering the role in Lorene Scafaria's directorial debut, Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, reported Deadline.com.
Steve is tipped to play a man who, as doomsday approaches, suddenly finds himself all alone when his wife leaves in a panic, and as the end becomes nigh, decides to embark on a road trip to find his high school sweetheart.
He is accompanied on the road by his neighbour, played by Keira.
Production on the romantic comedy is due to begin in May.
Keira next appears in WW1 drama A Dangerous Method opposite Viggo Mortensen and Michael Fassbender, and is tipped to play the title role in Joe Wright's Anna Karenina.
