Kravitz and Maggie Q join Divergent

Zoe Kravitz has joined the cast of Divergent

Zoe Kravitz and Maggie Q are the latest additions to Divergent.

The two actresses have reportedly joined the cast of Neil Burger's big-screen adaptation of Veronica Roth's teenage novel, reported Heat Vision blog.

The Descendants star Shailene Woodley is already set to play Tris, a 16-year-old girl living in a world where society is divided into five areas, each representing a particular virtue such as Honesty, Selflessness, Bravery, Peacefulness and Intelligence.

Zoe will play Tris' friend, while Maggie has been cast as a tattoo parlour owner who helps divide people into their factions.

Acting newcomer Ansel Elgort, who will be in Carrie opposite Chloe Moretz, is to play Tris' twin brother, who wants to break loose from his family's clan to join another group.

Divergent is apparently being planned as the first in a potential trilogy of movies, to follow in the footsteps of The Hunger Games and Twilight.

Kate Winslet had previously been in talks for a role.

Production on Divergent is expected to begin in Chicago in the spring, once Shailene has finished filming her role as Mary Jane in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
