Kristen Bell wants to bring Veronica Mars to the big screen.
The teen TV drama turned the 30-year-old into a cult favourite but was cancelled in 2007 after three seasons, and the Couples Retreat actress is now intent on bringing the character back to life with the help of the show's loyal fans.
"Mars fans, can we bug @wbpictures and tell em the must do a VM film?? New tactic. Bombard em [with] tweets, there's evidence of fans they can't ignore," she tweeted.
"Unfortunately [Warner Bros] owns the rights. They gotta make it, or set it free! We would be happy to make it privately!" she continued.
"WB says their research shows the movie won't have an audience; I disagree. Currently figuring out how to show them."
Kristen, who next appears in Burlesque with Christina Aguilera and Cher, urged fans, as well as the show's producer Dan Etheridge and series creator Rob Thomas, to sign an online petition and sign up to a Facebook group supporting the film.
After receiving more than 7,500 signatures in just a few short hours, she was quick to express her gratitude.
"Thank you so much for being so dedicated. You're all marshmallows," she wrote.
