Kristen Stewart to head to Cali
Kristen Stewart is lining up her darkest role yet in gritty action movie Cali.
The Twilight star, who shows off her action chops as the sword-wielding princess in Snow White And The Huntsman, is apparently eyeing up the lead role as a young woman who fakes her own death with her boyfriend in Michael Diliberti's film, reported Variety.
The couple - who are described as "lovebirds with a penchant for bad choices and dangerous behaviour" - sell the fake snuff movie featuring Kristen's character Mya, and disappear with the money, but years later, she has to return "from the dead" to save her younger sister from various personalities including "angry former business partners... and an unstoppable killing machine in a cowboy hat".
"Kristen is a talented and dynamic actor, with a proven box office draw," producer Craig J Flores (300) told the trade website.
"Her role in Cali will be edgy and sexy. It will no doubt push the envelope on the public's view of Kristen's wide-ranging abilities."
The 22-year-old will also take on her first producing role for Cali, which is expected to start shooting in late summer.
A director and other cast members have yet to be announced.
