Kurylenko cast in Crowe's movie

Olga Kurylenko has been cast in Russell Crowe's directorial debut.

The former Bond girl will also share the screen with the Oscar-winner in The Water Diviner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is set in 1919 and follows an Australian father who travels to Istanbul, Turkey, to find out what happened to his sons after they disappeared following the battle of Gallipoli.

Russell is to play the father and Oblivion actress Olga will play the Turkish woman who owns the hotel he stays in.

David Garrett, of sales and distribution banner Mister Smith Entertainment, said: "We anticipate great interest from our buyers in Russell Crowe's directorial debut.

"It is a compelling, emotional story, set across a sweeping landscape, and the strong script together with the casting of international star Olga Kurylenko opposite Russell gives this film huge worldwide appeal."

Shooting is due to start in Australia in December.
