LaBeouf sent naked pics for role

Shia LaBeouf had to put a lot of trust in Lars von Trier

Shia LaBeouf has revealed that he had to send pictures of his manhood as part of his audition for Lars von Trier's erotic drama Nymphomaniac.

The Transformers actor stars alongside Charlotte Gainsbourg in the film about a woman, Joe, recounting the raunchy events in her life from her youth to her fifties to her husband, played by Stellan Skarsgard.

Shia revealed in an interview with von Trier's Zentropa Productions: "I got a call from my agent [about working with Lars] and I said, 'Yeah, anything, any role.'

"And then the first info we got - and I'll never forget this because my entire team reacted with such a fear - the first request on the production end, not from Lars, was pictures of my penis."

The 27-year-old Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull star said he wanted to play Jerome, an office worker who begins a relationship with the young Joe, played by Stacy Martin, because it was "an adversarial role".

He said: "I'd been looking for an adversarial role. Previously in my career I'd been the everyman or the normal guy stuck in this extraordinary situation. Jerome was the opportunity to play a slimy, evil f***ing blasphemous, mini-juggernaut of a man."

Shia admitted he didn't really understand what they were doing when they were shooting the movie, but insisted: "I trusted Lars implicitly."

If you act like you don't care about the outcome of a situation, they won't be paralysed with uncertainty. You have a tendency to make people nervous.More
