Lautner wants to Cruise into career

Taylor Lautner has drawn comparisons to Tom Cruise

Taylor Lautner would love to be as successful in Hollywood as Tom Cruise, but admitted they are "big shoes to fill".

The Twilight star, who did a lot of his own stunts in his latest film Abduction, has already drawn comparisons to the action star.

"Oh boy, I don't know about that. Those are some big shoes to fill. I would give anything to have a tenth of the career that Tom Cruise has had," he said.

"I mean, this was amazing but as an actor, I don't want to just do one thing. I want to be able to challenge myself to a wide variety of roles so I look forward to doing something new and different next."

Taylor has already met his idol, who has also given him advice on riding a motorcycle for Abduction, which is in cinemas now.

"I wouldn't say we're best friends but I have ran into him a few times and I can technically say I've worked with him once," he continued.

"We did the opening skit for the MTV Movie Awards where he played his Les Grossman character from Tropic Thunder. That was very surreal because he's definitely been at the top of my list growing up and still is today."

He added: "He's obsessed with motorcycles, action and stunts so, when I told him about this he was very excited and said: 'You've got to do training, you've got to know what you're doing because you've actually got to do it yourself'."

This isn't a good time to make travel plans. Weather conditions and work responsibilities have a way of wreaking havoc with your schedule. Wait another few days before putting down a hefty deposit. Working behind the scenes will yield significant rewards. If someone asks you to serve as their assistant, go ahead and accept. The pay will be excellent and there will be a lot of fringe benefits, too. Don't talk about a neighbour's private life in mixed company.More
