Les Mis star Anne open to Broadway

Anne Hathaway said she wouldn't mind performing a few shows on Broadway

Anne Hathaway has revealed she's open to reprising her Les Miserables role on Broadway.

Theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh has announced that the hit musical will be returning to theatres next year, and the actress said she'd consider treading the boards as Fantine.

Asked at the Costume Designers Guild Awards if she'd return to her award-winning role, Anne answered: "I hadn't thought about it - obviously, because you just told me about it! I don't know if I'd want to do an extended run, but if they wanted me for a few shows, that would be lovely."

Anne, 30, has already scooped a Golden Globe, SAG Award and Bafta for her role as dying prostitute Fantine, and faces up against the likes of Amy Adams and Sally Field for the Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars.

The star admitted she's left her choice of outfit for Hollywood's biggest night to the very last minute, as she still has no idea what she'll be wearing.

"Hand on a Bible I have no idea," she laughed.

"I have a few in mind, something exciting happened today. But I started off this awards season, once I found out I was nominated, with one idea, and it's kind of changed."

Anne was speaking as she was honoured with the spotlight award at the 15th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards. The spotlight gong honours actors and directors for their collaborations with costume designers.

"I especially treasure the moment that happens on set when all the choices have been made, rehearsal is done, you're about to start, you look down and you believe in what you're wearing, so that way when you look up, you are gone, and it's finally the character's moment to come alive," the actress said while accepting her trophy.

The costume designers behind Skyfall, Anna Karenina and Mirror Mirror won the night's top prizes at the Beverly Hills Hotel ceremony hosted by Community star Joel McHale.
