Liam Gallagher to hold LA auditions

Liam Gallagher is making a Beatles film

Liam Gallagher wants Hollywood stars Jared Leto and Ethan Hawke to audition for his Beatles film, according to reports.

The ex Oasis singer is preparing to hold castings in Los Angeles for the movie, directed by 24 Hour Party People film-maker Michael Winterbottom.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''Liam is going to hold castings in the US in April.

"A lot of the lead roles are American, so he's keen to find the right names.

''He knows he's not going to manage to entice someone like Brad Pitt but he wants high-calibre people who are more on the indie scene of Hollywood. He thinks actors such as Jared and Ethan would be perfect.''

The Longest Cocktail Party is based on Apple worker Richard DiLello's 1973 book and co-produced with Liam Gallagher's film company.

The American began working for the company as a teenager after he "wandered into" the Apple building in 1968 and his responsibilities went from making tea to director of public relations.

His memoir charts the period from 1968 to The Beatles' break-up in 1970.

Peep Show creator Jesse Armstrong is reported to have written the script.

In 2011, Beady Eye singer Liam said he wanted Johnny Depp to star in the film.

Jared recently starred in Dallas Buyers Club and Ethan is currently filming Ten Thousand Saints with Hailee Steinfeld.
