Liam Hemsworth set to go AWOL?

Liam Hemsworth is being linked to AWOL

Liam Hemsworth could soon be going AWOL for a new film.

The Last Song heartthrob is said to be in talks for one of the lead roles in the romantic drama set amongst the backdrop of the Vietnam War, reported Deadline.

Teresa Palmer, Austin Stowell, Aimee Teegarden, Chris Lowell and Max Adler are also tipped for supporting roles in Danny Mooney's directorial debut.

AWOL, based on a true story and written by Jim Burnstein and Garrett K Schiff, explores the anti-Vietnam War movement at the University of Michigan, and is scheduled to shoot there later this summer.

Since playing Josh Taylor in Neighbours, Liam has carved out a career in Hollywood with his brother Chris. After starring in The Last Song opposite then-girlfriend Miley Cyrus, he has filmed 3D action movie Arabian Nights and sporting drama The Throwback with Dennis Quaid.

His next high-profile role is as Gale Hawthorn in the big-screen adaptation of The Hunger Games opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.
