Liam Neeson in running for 'worst supporting actor' gong
Liam Neeson has been singled out for a Razzie as worst supporting actor for his turn in critically-panned action flick Battleship.
The Razzies were launched in 1980 as a tongue-in-cheek alternative to the annual awards season.
Singer Rihanna — who made the video of her single Love In A Hopeless Place in Northern Ireland — is also in the Battleship Razzie firing line, with a nomination as the worst supporting actress.
The salty tale got nods for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Screenplay, Worst Supporting Actor and Worst Supporting Actress.
Despite the salvo of seven snubs, Ballymena man Neeson can take comfort in the fact that two other flicks were judged even bigger turkeys.
The final Twilight film is way out in front and has received 11 nominations.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 is named in categories such as worst picture and worst screenplay.
Its stars, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, also have the dubious honour of being nominated in the lead acting categories.
The blockbuster vampire movie is closely followed by the Adam Sandler comedy That's My Boy, which is up for eight Razzies.
Other nominees include Eddie Murphy comedy A Thousand Words and The Oogieloves In The Big Balloon Adventure.
The nominations come on the same day as the Bafta shortlist and a day before the Oscar contenders are revealed.
The Razzie award ceremony takes place a day before the Oscars extravaganza, on February 23. All the winners receive a golden raspberry statuette.
