Lily Cole has nabbed a role in Snow White And The Huntsman.

The model-actress, who graduated with double first honours in History of Art from Cambridge University, is said to be playing a character called Greta in Rupert Sanders' film adaptation of the classic fairytale, but no further details are known about the role, reported Variety.

British actor Sam Spruell, who appeared in Elizabeth: The Golden Age and The Hurt Locker, will play Finn, one of the evil Queen's henchmen who is sent to kill both the titular princess and the huntsman who helps her escape.

Kristen Stewart is already on board as the eponymous heroine, with Charlize Theron as the Queen, Chris Hemsworth as the huntsman and Sam Claflin as Prince Charming.

Ian McShane, Eddie Izzard, Toby Jones, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham and Ray Winstone will join in as the seven dwarves.

Hossein Amini is rewriting the script, with production scheduled to begin this year in Europe, in time for a 2012 release.

Lily, whose big-screen outings include St Trinian's and The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus, has said that she plans to focus more on acting than on her modelling career.

"I've been doing modelling for years and I feel like I've taken out of it what I need to and I'm ready for new things. I wouldn't want to treat acting as a convenient thing to do now and again," she told Elle Canada.
