Liman to direct Scott's Narco Sub?

Doug Liman is tipped to take over the movie Narco Sub, which late filmmaker Tony Scott had been set to direct.

The Bourne Identity director is in "early negotiations" about taking the reins on the action thriller, reported The Wrap.

Narco Sub is set in the world of drug smuggling and follows a captain's son who is kidnapped by a cartel. He is blackmailed into taking a submarine carrying cocaine from South America to the US.

Doug recently completed work on Tom Cruise sci-fi film Edge Of Tomorrow, which is due to be released in 2014.

Top Gun director Scott committed suicide by jumping off a bridge into Los Angeles Harbour in August 2012.
