The Fast And Furious filmmaker will direct Jeremy Renner in the sequel to last year's The Bourne Legacy, reported Deadline.
The Hurt Locker actor Jeremy took over from Matt Damon as the star of the action franchise last year, playing new lead character Aaron Cross.
Tony Gilroy was at the helm of that film, but later indicated he wouldn't be back in the director's chair for the next one.
A release date has yet to be announced but Deadline says that "a summer 2015 release is being eyed".
