Little Fockers tops US box office

Ben Stiller stars in Little Fockers

Little Fockers has held on to the US box office top spot for the second weekend in a row to become the first number one film of 2011.

The latest instalment of Ben Stiller's Meet The Parents franchise, which also stars Robert De Niro as father-in-law from hell Jack Byrnes, took in a total of 25.8 million dollars.

Hot on the heels of the hit comedy was the Coen brothers' latest film True Grit, which notched up 24.4 million dollars.

The Western sees Jeff Bridges play Rooster Cogburn, a lawman who helps a young woman track down her father's murderer.

Tron: Legacy, which also stars the Oscar-winning actor, took in 18.8 million dollars.

Total takings in the US now stand at 131.3 million dollars for the Disney release, which reboots the story line started in the 1982 tale Tron.

The top 20 movies at US and Canadian cinemas, as compiled by Hollywood.com, also included Yogi Bear, which came in at number four with 12.4 million dollars. In fifth position was the Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, taking in 10.3 million.
