Tron: Legacy, which also stars the Oscar-winning actor, took in 18.8 million dollars.
Total takings in the US now stand at 131.3 million dollars for the Disney release, which reboots the story line started in the 1982 tale Tron.
The top 20 movies at US and Canadian cinemas, as compiled by Hollywood.com, also included Yogi Bear, which came in at number four with 12.4 million dollars. In fifth position was the Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader, taking in 10.3 million.
