Lopez, Martin sign up for Home

Jennifer Lopez has joined the cast of upcoming animated comedy Home.

The singer, actress and American Idol judge will voice a character in the alien invasion film, reported The Wrap.

Steve Martin has also landed a part in the film, which already boasts Rihanna and Jim Parsons among the cast.

Home is based on Adam Rex's children's book, The True Meaning Of Smekday.

Steve will voice the character Captain Smek, the leader of an alien race known as the Boov, who take over Earth and begin to relocate the human race.

Singer Rihanna will lend her voice to a girl who avoids capture and J-Lo will voice her mother.

The movie is being directed by Tim Johnson.
