Lost director out of Jack Ryan film
Chris Pine's new Jack Ryan movie has been left without a director after Lost's Jack Bender dropped out of the project.
The This Means War actor is playing the CIA agent hero of Tom Clancy's spy thriller novels in a new film, currently untitled.
Bender is no longer attached to direct, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
A source said he had dropped out because of a scheduling conflict. He recently signed up to direct and executive produce the Syfy pilot Rewind.
Jack Ryan 5 is being produced by Paramount and Skydance Pictures and is expected to begin filming this summer, once Chris finishes working on Star Trek 2.
A search for a new director has swiftly begun.
Jack Ryan was the hero of The Hunt For Red October, when he was played by Alec Baldwin, Patriot Games and Clear And Present Danger which starred Harrison Ford and The Sum of All Fears, starring Ben Affleck.
