Luhrmann thrilled with Gatsby cast

Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and the rest of The Great Gatsby cast have given "100 per cent" to the movie, director Baz Luhrmann has said.

The filmmaker introduced a 3D montage from the film via a videotaped message at the CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas, during which he revealed he was bowled over by the fabulous cast, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"The entire cast of young actors are at the height of their powers," he said. "Everyone's investment in this project has been 100 per cent."

Baz said working with this particular cast, which also includes Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton, had been "one of the greatest privileges" of his career.

The director - the mastermind behind Australia, Moulin Rouge! and Romeo And Juliet - is still tweaking the film ahead of its debut as the 66th Cannes Film Festival in May.

Your dry humour will be very popular. It's always difficult bringing a large group of people together. Everybody feels like they are walking on eggshells. After cracking a few jokes, you'll put the group at ease. Resist the temptation to make fun of relatives, especially the more sensitive members of the group. Nobody likes feeling singled out. Watching a light hearted comedy can also be a great way to generate a festive atmosphere. This is a time when people can put their differences aside.More
