MacLaine in talks for Granite role
Shirley MacLaine is tipped to star in upcoming movie Men Of Granite.
The film is based on a book by Dan Manoyan and tells the true story of a group of poor, immigrant boys in Illinois who went on to become the 1940 state basketball champions.
Oscar-winning actress Shirley, 80, is in talks to play the school teacher who stood up against bigotry and mentored them, reported Deadline.
William Hurt was previously said to be interested in playing the coach, but is not officially on board.
Dwayne Johnson-Cochran will direct the movie, which was previously titled The Boys Of Lincoln Place.
Shirley's other upcoming big screen projects include Wild Oats and The Locals.
