Maleficent was 'fun' for Manville
Lesley Manville has revealed that working on new film Maleficent was "great fun".
The British actress portrays Flittle, one of the three pixies caring for Princess Aurora (Elle Fanning), in Robert Stromberg's upcoming Disney film.
"Maleficent is a big Disney film that's coming out this summer and it's the prequel to Sleeping Beauty," she said.
"It was great fun. It's a great bit of fantastic, epic Disney film."
Angelina Jolie stars as villainness Maleficent, with Sharlto Copley and Miranda Richardson as King Stefan and Queen Ulla.
Lesley - who won best actress for her performance in the Almeida Theatre's production of Ibsen's play Ghosts at the Critics' Circle Theatre Awards - said she enjoyed working with Angelina, although many of her scenes were with fellow 'pixies' Imelda Staunton and Juno Temple.
"She was absolutely wonderful. The whole thing was creative and hilarious, although most of my stuff is with the other pixies. You couldn't get any more different to Ghosts!" the 57-year-old said.
Maleficent will open in UK cinemas on May 30.
