Emma Watson is a "great" girl, said her Bling Ring co-star Leslie Mann.

The Harry Potter star, best known for playing bookish wizard Hermione Granger, portrays Leslie's screen daughter in Sofia Coppola's upcoming film.

"Emma Watson is the best. She's so adorable. I fell in love with her. She played my daughter and she is a great girl," she said.

The story is based on the real-life case of a group of fame-obsessed teenagers who robbed the homes of Hollywood stars.

Leslie explained: "It's a crazy story about a bunch of kids who follow celebrities on Twitter and find out when they are out of town and then go and rob their houses. It was a true story."

Leslie also stars in the Knocked Up sequel This Is 40 with Paul Rudd. She revealed it was fun collaborating with her family on the film, but admitted it was tough at times. Her husband Judd Apatow directed the movie, while the couple's two daughters were cast as her screen kids.

"At times it was really fun and we'll look back and be really happy that we did it. It's so unusual to be able to work with your kids like that, but then we do drive each other crazy," she said.

"Judd and I drive each other crazy because we are so passionate and the kids are amazing, but then they cry and they need a lot of attention. To do both is hard at times, but I think overall it's a good thing."
