Russell Brand had to behave himself while voicing the Easter Bunny in his new family-friendly film Hop, according to co-star James Marsden.
"We had to keep him on a short leash for this movie!" James joked.
The actor explained: "He still gets to be Russell but he has to do it within the confines of [playing] the Easter Bunny."
He said: "[We] got to hang out a bit before I was shooting, obviously because he's a voice and I was a live action character, but I thought it was important to figure out what Russell was going to do with the his character."
He added: "[Russell is] a brilliant comedian and one of the big reasons I wanted to do this movie."
While most of the cast got to voice their lines in a sound studio, James had the daunting task of being one of the few actors filming in front of the cameras having to imagine the animated animals around him.
"Most of the time it was just a piece of green tape for eye line," he revealed. "It's a technical movie, I never went home thinking 'wow, that scene was brilliant' so that's why I'm excited to see the whole thing put together."
