Martin Sheen turns funeral director

Martin Sheen has signed up for psychological horror The Autopsy Of Jane Doe.

The Apocalypse Now and West Wing star, 73, will play a small-town funeral director in the film, Screen Daily reported.

The movie - due to begin shooting in London this summer - is being made by Norwegian director Andre Ovredal, best known for Troll Hunter.

Screen star Martin will play Tommy, who receives a mysterious, young and beautiful homicide victim, with no apparent cause of death.

Andre told Screen Daily: "Being a lifelong fan of Martin Sheen, I am honoured and thrilled to get the opportunity to work with him. He also perfectly embodies everything I want his character in the movie to be, so this is a dream come true for me.

"I intend to make The Autopsy Of Jane Doe a movie that will thrill, scare and delight the widest possible audience."

The screenplay has been penned by Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing.
