Marvel to shoot in UK at Pinewood?
Joaquin Phoenix could be filming Doctor Strange in the UK, as he is rumoured to be starring in the Marvel film said to be heading to Pinewood-Shepperton studios.
According to Screen Daily, Marvel Studios are in negotiations with the UK studios to film their latest superhero instalment there and are already assembling a crew.
The project is expected to move into Pinewood in late 2014 or early 2015, with a possible filming start date of May 2015.
Doctor Strange is based on the comic about a former neurosurgeon who becomes Sorcerer Supreme, the main protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats.
Joaquin is rumoured to be taking the lead role and Scott Derrickson will direct.
Marvel and parent company Disney already have a close relationship with Pinewood - Star Wars: Episode VII and Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass are currently filming there, Avengers: Age Of Ultron has recently wrapped at the Shepperton studios and Ant-Man is shooting at Pinewood's new Atlanta studios.
Sony's Bond 24 is due to begin shooting at Pinewood-Shepperton late next year or in early 2016.
Doctor Strange is due to be released on July 8, 2016.
