Matthew Modine for Walk Like A Man

Matthew Modine has signed up to direct the American Civil War film Walk Like A Man.

Variety said that the actor is also on board to produce the adaptation of Donald Honig's 1961 novel.

Set during the final months of the Civil War, the book is the story of a teenage boy who follows his uncle into Virginia in an attempt to prove his innocence and save him from a traitor's fate.

Full Metal Jacket actor Matthew recently starred in Jobs, the Steve Jobs biopic, and in The Dark Knight Rises as Deputy Commissioner Peter Foley.

He's also set to direct The Rocking Horsemen, which follows four teenage boys as they attempt to form their own band.
