McElhone to take bunny boiler role

Natascha McElhone is to play the bunny boiler role made famous by Glenn Close in the first stage adaptation of hit film Fatal Attraction .

The 1987 film is the story of how a casual fling goes wrong when Glenn's character becomes obsessed with lawyer Dan Gallagher, played by Michael Douglas, and his family.

Glenn was nominated for an Oscar for her role as the obsessive other woman who in one scene famously cooks a pet rabbit belonging to her ex-lover's family.

The full cast, including who will play the part taken by Douglas in the film, will be announced later.

Truman Show star Natascha, who lives in London, has also starred in US TV show Californication.

The play, directed by Trevor Nunn, opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on March 25.
