McGregor spends Last Days In Desert

Ewan McGregor is set to star in drama Last Days In The Desert.

The Scottish actor has signed on to star as both a holy man and a demon confronting his own fate in the desert in Rodrigo Garcia's film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ciaran Hinds, Tye Sheridan and Ayelet Zurer have also joined the film.

Production is expected to begin in the Southern California desert in coming months.

Producer Thorsten Schumacher said: "Rodrigo Garcia is an incredible filmmaker who we've long admired, and he's assembled an amazing cast and crew to bring to life this epic and profound story. We're thrilled to introduce Last Days In The Desert to our buyers at Berlin."

Ewan, who starred opposite Julia Roberts and Meryl Streep in August: Osage County, will next be seen in Jane Got A Gun alongside Natalie Portman and Joel Edgerton, and crime thriller Son Of A Gun with Alicia Vikander and Brendon Thwaites.
